Champions of Destiny - Game 3

Round 3 - Vampire Counts vs Dark Elves Onto the third game, where I was facing Julie Stevens army of Dark Elves. I don't think I've ever played against Dark Elves before. I've had them as allies in a couple of games, once whilst playing Vampire Counts and once with my trusty (but few) High Elves (both of which my ally and I won). I even had a go at playing Dark Elves against my son's Empire army in a Storm of Magic game, using proxies for the Dark Elves. That one didn't go too well for me. We were playing the Mad Mage scenario, and the mad mage and his moving tower kept moving towards MY units and zapping them with a horrible spell. I can't remember the name of the spell off hand, but it did 3d6 Strength 2d6 hits (ouch!) Anyway, back to the battle report. After the battle with the Dwarfs in round 2, my Vampire Lord had managed to return to the Black Coach in gaseous form and regenerate back to full strength. In both of the previous games, he had been de

Round 2 - Vampire Counts vs Dwarfs So, in this game I was playing against Luke Stout and his Dwarf army. Again, not a good track record against dwarfs. My best game was when I scored 99 points more than my opponent in a friendly, 2 points short of a minor victory. Dwarfs, as most Warhammer players will know, are tough little S.O.B.s, especially when they are running a gun-line, as was the case in this game. To throw a little bit of story-line in here, my general was now upgraded to a Vampire Lord, having gained some power from the Black Coach (which, for this battle, was sitting off of the battlefield). My 2,000 point army was as follows. General: Luga Belosi - Vampire Lord Level 1 Wizard (Lore of Vampires) Heavy armour, barded nightmare Sword of Swift Slaying, Charmed Shield, Talisman of Preservation Red Fury Vampire Level 2 Wizard (Lore of Shadow) Heavy armour, barded nightmare Book of Arkhan Quickblood Necromancer Level 1 Wizard (Lore of Vamp

Champions of Destiny Tournament Okay! Here it is. As promised, the battle reports for my games that I played at the Champions of Destiny 2017 Tournament. This tournament was held on 26th of March 2017 and held at Warzone in Northampton. This awesome event was organised by the equally awesome Mark Peat. It was an 8th edition Warhammer tournament, which was welcomed by those who attended (including myself) who have no desire to hack off the square bases of their models to convert them to round bases (ugh!), and want to keep the spirit of the much loved 8th edition alive. The games in this tournament had a very interesting format. They were all Battle Line, a good old straight fight between two opposing armies, none of this capture the corners or other silly rules. However, the games, were escalating, starting at 1,000 points in the first round, 1,500 points in the second, and 2,000 points in the third and final game. In addition to our 'standard' armies, each pla
